After a bit of a lay off (too long for my liking !!) I'm finally back in the world of fish keeping.

Last Saturday I got my new tank, it's 36 x 18 x 18 with a massive sump, total volume of around 300L.

After a long day swapping tanks and hauling a lot of stuff around we finally landed at my house with the tank at 11.30 at night. After much huffing and puffing I had finally got my tank in place ;)

My plans for this tank are (at the moment) simple, I want to keep soft corals, mainly zoas, im not sure on fish yet, this normally gets decided by caz and the kids !! :smash:

My 1st job is to get a hood for it, so far im not having much luck, but i've got a few irons in the fire im just hoping one of them comes up trumps.

I'm looking into LED lighting, mainly due to the running costs and with me not really having any aspirations to keep lps or sps I think LED will be fine.

Going to be a slow build as moneys a bit tight at the moment (don't you just love a recession !!) I don't envisage me getting it truly wet and up and running until after Christmas, at the moment im just looking around for a few bits of kit, hoping to land on a bargain or two.

I will keep this up to date as often as I can and I will add some pictures of the tank with my next update.

Finally the wait is over for all TMC fans who use their LEDs. In the past their controllers only ever operated 1 light per controller. As many hobbyists were using multiple lights above their tanks (particularly marine hobbysists) it meant purchasing lots of controllers which was costly.

two new corals i got for my birthday.:p

trumpet coral and a little pulsing xenia. the trumpet is in a stand for now untill i can think were to put it.

more pics as i can put 5 on in one go.pic 2 is new a week old and pic3 is making more corals and i will cut them of and make more.

more pics. and pic 3 the growth on this coral is wow as it was a little thing of 1" now it is over a good 12".

it as been 2mouthss now with the new leds on the tank and the coral growth is wow.the coral in pic two is now over a 1ft long.

its bin ages since i last did a blog so. i had a ammonia spike a few weeks back but it turn out to be a faulty test kit i have change the background from a fw background to blue and everything looks loads better. i have had a death too lose my tiger watchman goby and a cleaner shrimp but other than that everything is looking very look. i have notice 2day that one of clowns is hosting one of my mushie atleast i think he is. here r some pics and a small video
