Has anybody used one of these? I was thinking of getting one and using it for some White clouds, however I can't think for the life of me how you clean the darn thing.

i havent Luke but cleaning would be a bit of a nightmare, the only way to access the tank is through a small slot in the top :-/

That's what concerns me, the Bi-orb is a pain in the neck to clean however a small slot in the top would be worse.

theres a display in my shop .they are hard to clean but its makes it easier if you do it daly to stop the algae becoming thick.just makes sure you open it in the car as we have had loads that have cracked in transit.the one in the shop ( that i set up :D) we jusy have cherry shrimp in and they are doing well.

its best to do it daily as the lights can cause a fair bit of algae

are they glass?

i have seen one in the shop non sponsor it has halogen lights and a nice little in built filter but wouldnt be happy if it was to crack in transit

also cleaning would be absolutly anoying if it isnt glass

Thanks for the advice guys, the halogens would be ideal for growing live plants so something along the lines of Riccia or Dwarf hairgrass might be OK. :)

problem is you have to turn the filter down to stop bubbles collecting under the glass and if you using co2 its risky.where just growing moss and thats it and its fine theres no c02 just a very small amount of liquid fert every so often and its fine ill get you a pic next time i go in

on the other forum they have managed to let mushroom corals thrive, so a plant should be ok under them, co2 could be a problem though, can imagine how you connect it in

I think they're just another over priced gimmicky fish tank. For that amount of money you could set your own system up and it would look so much nicer (IMO)

They are wicked looking and I think the only way around keeping the algae down would be to employ an army of window lickers!!! Personally as far as designer tanks go I think the Biorb life is far better looking!!!

I'm going back down to Manchester next week for a few days so I'll have a sniff around the aquatic stores in that area. I've been on youtube for some videos on these and they look pretty good. The HOB filter seems to produce a lot of surface agitation which should make up for the lack of surface area once the tank is full.

just be sure to check the tank is in one piece before you go back home ;)

The girls (my sister Hannah and my cousins Lauren and Chloe) will no doubt fill the car with their own junk (namely clothes and cosmetics), leaving my stuff being crushed under the weight...
